OLD SCHOOL DIAMONDBACK BMX PRO

I sold this bike in Feb 2014 to start an '81 Diamond Back Long Pro build. The build is finished off with a with a vintage Zeronine Wildfire race plate. The seat is a retro KZ-01, the seat post is a n alloy Compe Lite with a Thomson cl amp. The rear v-brake and right hand lever are Speedline Elite. The pedals are polished Bullseye Pro with re-anodised cages. The stem is a polished Bullseye Elite impo rted from Planet BMX. The bottom bracket is Bullseye, the cranks are 185mm 2nd Gen Bullseye, rechromed by Doug Taylor and the spider is also a 2nd Gen Bullseye. The chain ring is a red anodised Tuf Neck 42T and the chain is Izumi. They are wrapped in Tioga Comp III tyres. The wheels are polished Araya TB-50 7X rims laced to polished Bullseye hubs with a White Industries freewheel, built by the guys at RADBMX. I opted to go with a set of Al's Rapid Transit 'Cook Bro thers' Pro-sized tribute bars and retro Landing Gear forks. It is one of 25, 20" frames built and it's called a NoMoreA. This is my 2003 Nomura tribute, built by Supercross. I know this isn't an old school build, but it does have an old school feel, as most of the components are vintage or retro. The build was finished with an NOS Haro Type 2 race plate and an NOS SE Racing Quadangle pad. The Oakley B1B grips and Panaracer Knarler Knobby tyres are reissues from Oakley US and Natsukashi BMX in Japan. The wheels are made up from a lovely set of Ukai shiny side gold rims, laced to NOS gold Shimano hubs. The seat post is an NOS SR Laprade held in place by an NOS Tuf Neck seat post clamp, topped with a mint Elina Flyte Tech seat. I also picked up an NOS set of Skyway Tuff Graphite pedals with gold cages from a collector in New Zealand. The stem in a very nice 'Pat Pend' Tuf Neck and the headset is an NOS Hatta, both of which were imported from the US. I've added some NOS gold Shimano Tourney calipers, NOS DX levers, a mint Sugino Maxy Cross crank set with a Sugino bottom bracket, a Suntour 44T chain ring and an Izumi chain. This is my first completed build of 2014, a baby blue 1985 SE Racing Quadangle with gold parts. The frame and unstamped Landing Gear were a Christmas present from my wife. Retrogoose Bike of the Month, October 2014.

OLD SCHOOL DIAMONDBACK BMX SERIES

The wheels are NOS Pro Class Series III hard anodised rims laced to NOS Suzue hubs (low flange on the rear, high on the front) by Source BMX, wrapped in Cheng Shin Snake Belly fat/thin t yres. The cranks are mint Pro Class 3-piece on a Pro Class sealed bearing bottom bracket and NOS Pro Class Power Plate / Takagi 44T chain ring. The bars are re-chromed, Maurice stamped, uncut Pro Class with BMX Products grips. The frame and forks have been stripped of the chrome and re-plated in black nickel by Precision Plating in Melbourne, Australia. This is the third incarnation of this frame since I have owned it and I am finally happy.
